A Mega Ball card is made up of 5 x 5 squares. The middle square (where the arrow is located in the following example) has no number. It can be described as "wild".

Buying Mega Ball cards

The Mega Ball draw

The 20 balls

Mega Ball(s)
The Mega Ball is the 21st ball fired, and it's the one that can win you the jackpot. This is because it multiplies your potential win by a multiplier of between x5 and x100.
To calculate the percentage of your chance of getting the ball you want, the calculation is as follows: 1 (the ball you want)/31 (number of remaining balls) x 100 = 3.2% chance of getting the ball you want.
In the following explanation, Bidule needs 3 numbers to win his huge prize. So: 3 (number of balls Bidule needed)/31 x 100 = 9.6% chance of getting one of the numbers he needs.
As mentioned in the previous point, Bidule needs the numbers 6, 19 or 46 to complete his grid. In this way, the 21st ball could win him that amount. But before this last ball is drawn, a computer will throw a wheel that will give a multiplier between x5 and x100.
As you can see from the photo above, Bidule could win €12,500, €12,450 or €12,400 if one of the three numbers fell. Before the last ball appeared, Bidule got a x25 multiplier. His potential winnings were thus multiplied by 25.
A few seconds later, ball 19 appears. This allows Bidule to complete a grid and win.
